VFD with high starting torque in 22.5KW motor
Q: I am using Gozuk VFD in 22.5KW motor. In my application I need high starting torque. Since you know that motors are purely inductive in nature and using VFD causes harmonics generation. Therefore I want to install blocking AC reactors here.
Please tell me on which operating conditions the harmonics increases as I want to install blocking reactors to protect transformer and transmission lines.
A: For most of the smaller VFDs on the market today, the harmonics are dealt with internally in the unit. The question of the level of harmonics expected is definitely not a simple one. There are many factors from the transformer size and utilization, cable length, other harmonic producers on the network.....etc !!
